Our Story

Tracing our roots back to the 1930s when Bella Signer began investing in rental properties, and she and her son Jack formed United Management.

Leading up to the 1970s, this mother-son team managed a huge portfolio of building, shopping center, hotels and residential rentals.

Fun fact: the family’s portfolio also included Hollywood Centre Studios in LA (home to many motion pictures and tv shows).

Finally, in the 1980s, the family turned its’ interest to land development and away from income properties. In the 1990 and onto the 2000’s, United went public (and then private again).

In 2014, Eric Carlson of Vancouver-based Anthem acquired United Communities and formed Anthem United Communities. We employ a team of 400 people, $6 billion in combined project value, and a portfolio of more than 14,600 homes.
